A fire broke out at the Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) building in the capital's Motijheel on Monday afternoon.
The fire originated on the seventh floor of the building adjacent to Bak Chattar around 1.35 pm, duty officer of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense Rasel Sikder told The Financial Express.
The fire service official said thirteen units of the fire department have started operations to douse the fire.
No casualties have been reported so far. The reason behind the blaze is yet to be known.
