Fire fighters have doused a fire that broke out inside Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday morning.

No casualty took place in the incident.

The fire started from a store room on the third floor of the airport building beside the car park.

Fire fighters managed to douse the fire after around one and a half of frantic efforts.

A duty officer at the BFSCDD control room, Lima Khanam said the fire started at 8:04am and two units of fire fighters from Kurmitola station rushed to the scene and brought it under control at 8:30am.

They were able to douse the blaze completely around 9:30am, she said.

The duty officer could not confirm the cause of the fire or its extent of losses immediately, local media reports say.

Several major structures caught fire in the last two months.

At least 71 people were killed in a deadly fire in Old Dhaka's Chawkbazar on February 20 and 27 in another blaze in Dhaka's Banani on March 28.
