A female worker, who suffered burns in a gas cylinder explosion at a Gazipur factory yesterday, has died early Wednesday.
The deceased Shefali Akter, a worker at 'FS Cosmetics Ltd', succumbed to her burn injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Earlier on Tuesday, the gas cylinder went off with a bang at 'FS Cosmetics Ltd' at Jamalpur area around 4:30pm when some 35 workers were working inside.
The factory caught fire following the explosion, leaving 11 workers injured.
The injured were taken to different hospitals, including DMCH.
Of them, Shefali succumbed to her injuries at about 4:30am, according to a news agency report.
To investigate into the incident, district administration formed a five-member probe body, headed by Kaliakoir Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Saiful Islam.
The committee has been asked to submit probe report within seven working days.
