Senior journalist and News Editor of The Financial Express, Abdullah M Hasan died of coronavirus at 6:41pm on Friday.
He was 72 years old.
Mr Hasan was undergoing treatment at the city’s Labaid Specialized Hospital, according to family sources.
He was born on July 27, 1948 in Rangpur.
The veteran journalist left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
He served in The Bangladesh Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Independent and The Daily Sun ahead of joining the Financial Express.
His first janaja was held at Takwa mosque in Dhanmondi today (Saturday) early morning, and second janaja at National Press Club at 10.30 am today (Saturday).
