Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has said Faridpur will be made a division and a city corporation soon.
Mosharraf said the works of making Faridpur district into a division is going on in full swing.
The minister came up with the statement while talking to journalists at the conference room of the Local Government Division in Dhaka on Sunday, reports BSS.
Earlier, he exchanged Eid greetings with the officials and employees of his ministry.
State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahaman Ranga and Senior Secretary of the Local Government Division Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan were present.
He said the government has taken a special initiative of Taka 15.00 billion to make the all sadar upazilas as like as municipality.
