Expatriates’ welfare ministry urges jobseekers to be on alert for middlemen

Expatriates’ welfare ministry suggested that the prospective overseas jobseekers remain alert as a section of middlemen has become active to cajole them into sending to Italy.

The Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment conveyed the message on Wednesday in a press statement.

It has been learnt from different sources that various groups of middlemen have become active to entice job seekers to send to Italy under Flussi Decreto (flow decree), the statement said.

However, the Italian government recently announced to hire seasonal and non-seasonal foreign workers under the mentioned arrangement. Bangladesh has also been included in the list of workers-sending countries.

About the process of migration to Italy the statement said, firstly the Italian employers will apply for no objection letter to their local DC office seeking recruitment of workers.

Employer will then send the no objection letter to the worker in Bangladesh. After that, the worker will apply for a visa at the Italian embassy in Dhaka. Workers will sign job contract after reaching Italy.
