Eminent playwright Mannan Hira passed away at a city hospital on Wednesday night.
Mannan, who received the Bangla Academy Award in 2006, breathed his last around 9:00 pm following a severe heart attack.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sorrow at his death, reports UNB.
In a condolence message, she said the nation will remember his unique contributions to the country’s drama field, including the street drama movement.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
