Election Officer of Rajshahi Niamul Haque died after a possible cardiac arrest in Rajshahi in the early hours of Sunday. He was 52.
He left behind his wife, three daughters and host of relatives, colleagues and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Niamul Haque fell ill at his residence soon after he returned from a Dhaka trip where he joined training for the upcoming eleventh parliamentary election.
According to family sources, Niamul felt severe chest pain at around 5:30 am when he reached the doorsteps of his house at Sagarpara area in Rajshahi.
He was immediately taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead. Niamul joined Rajshahi Regional Election Office as an election officer on October 10, 2017, reports BSS.
He went to Election Commission in Dhaka on November 22 last for attending a training session for the forthcoming national election, said District Election Officer Faridul Islam.
