Eight members of a family suffer burn injuries in Dhaka 'gas line blast'

Eight people, including two minor boys, of a family sustained burn injuries in a reported gas line explosion at a house on Alamin Road in Konapara area in Dhaka's Demra early Monday.

The injured have been identified as Arif, 35, Ratna Begum, 18, Shipon, 7, Emon, 18, Ferdousi, 35, Tofazzal, 22, Tasim, 2, and Alamgir, 40, reports news agency UNB.

Rasel Sikder, duty officer of Fire Service Control Room, said the gas line went off at the kitchen in the top floor of a two-storey building early morning as there was a leak in the gas pipe line, leaving the eight people injured.

Later, the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at about 4:00am said Bachchu Miah, in-charge of the hospital's police camp.
