Eight-member medical team reaches Kathmandu

A medical team, comprising burn and DNA specialists, reached in Kathmandu on Thursday to assist doctors at Kathmandu Medical College where US-Bangla Plane crash victims have been undergoing treatment.

Earlier, the eight-member medical team, led by Lutful Kader, associate professor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, left the capital for Nepal by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines around 11:05am, UNB reported quoting Md Kamrul Islam, General Manager (Marketing Support and PR) of US-Bangla Airlines.

The team members include orthopaedics specialists, burn specialists, surgery experts, he added.

The US-Bangla Airlines flight BS211, which flew from Dhaka to Kathmandu carrying 67 passengers and four crew members, crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Himalayan country of Nepal on Monday, leaving 51 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, dead.
