'Efforts intensified to bring back fugitive killers of Bangabandhu'

Diplomatic efforts have been strengthened for bringing the fugitive killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman back to Bangladesh so that the murderers get their deserved punishment.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said this on Thursday.

“The government has strengthened its diplomatic efforts to pave the way for bringing back the killers of Bangabandhu who remain fugitive and have taken shelter in different countries,” he said.

Quader, also the Awami League General Secretary, was talking to the journalists after paying tribute to the family members of Bangabandhu in city’s Banani graveyard on the occasion of the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day.

He said Awami League has been working tirelessly to build a corruption free country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. No obstacle will be able to thwart the country’s march towards progress, he said, adding that Awami League will build a non-communal Bangladesh as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu.

“We will continue to work being imbued with the ideology of Bangabandhu to build a corruption and hunger free Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” said Quader, reports BSS.
