The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved four projects with an estimated cost of Tk 5.34 billion.
The projects got approval during weekly meeting of the ECNEC on Tuesday with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan said out of the total cost for the projects, some Tk 4.41 billion fund will be provided from the government’s internal resources.
The remaining Tk 934 million will come from external resources as the project aid, he said.
The ECNEC endorsed one fresh project while revised three others.
The fresh project was approved for development and protection of local varieties of fish and snail at Tk 2.02 billion cost.
The ECNEC meeting revised RAJUK (1st revised) extending the cost by Tk 1.06 billion. It also revised Infrastructure Development of Rajshahi University Project extending the cost by Tk 1.47 billion.
A project was also revised for widening approach road and other necessary infrastructure development works at the Bangbandhu Safari Park increasing the cost by Tk 784.3 million.
