Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said the election commission wants secured environment for upcoming Khulna City Corporation election.
The EC has taken all the measures for the voters to vote spontaneously and safely in the election, he said on Sunday.
The law enforcement agencies in Khulna division are working efficiently for this reason, the CEC added.
The CEC made the remarks at a meeting of the Divisional Coordination Committee at the Khulna Circuit House Conference room on Khulna City Corporation Election -2018.
Necessary legal action will be taken if any allegation of irregularities is found during the election, he said.
"At the same time, there should be a sharp lookout to prevent harassment of innocent people," said the CEC.
After visiting the city, he said everything has been going in a systematic process.
"A peaceful election will be completed," the CEC hoped.
Khulna Divisional Commissioner Lokman Hossain Mia presided over the programme.
