Rejecting BNP's allegation over the Rangpur City Corporation election, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on Thursday said voters did not come up with any allegation.

Expressing satisfaction over the overall election situation, Nurul Huda said this the EC planned to use EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) in the election carefully and no problem was found in the use of EVM.

BNP alleged at a press briefing that administration obstructed voters from going to the polling stations and polling agents also were ousted from some stations during the city corporation election.

"We have gleaned information from local level. So, the allegation does not seem to be authentic," the CEC told reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital, reports UNB.

He said the voters are also satisfied using the EVMs.

"We have a plan of using EVMs also in the next local elections on a small scale. However, it will not be possible to use EVMs in the upcoming national election," said the CEC.
