E-judiciary in courts to mitigate sufferings of justice seekers

The government has planned to bring all courts of the country under ICT to infuse more dynamism in case management through e-judiciary.

In his budget speech for the fiscal year 2018-19 (FY19), Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith shared the plan on Thursday.

Besides, the process for constituting seven cyber tribunals is going on in seven divisional cities to ensure speedy and effective trial of cyber-crimes.

Moves are underway to reduce the sufferings of justice seekers by introducing ICT to handle judicial proceedings and case management by the Supreme Court and lower judiciary.

Now the summary of the pending cases, cause list and summary results are uploaded instantly to the Supreme Court website.

The latest information of the cases is made available to the public using display boards in five places of the Supreme Court as well as through SMS.

In addition, the bail orders given by the Supreme Court is made known through the Bail Confirmation Online Manual.
