The Department of Patent, Design and Trademark (DPDT) has launched its online application service.
Industry Minister Amir Hossain Amu inaugurated the service on Thursday at a ceremony at BIAM Foundation Auditorium in Dhaka city.
The service has been run under ‘IP Tube Component’ of ‘the a2i’ project under the Prime Minister Office (PMO).
Among others, Industries secretary Mohammad Abdullah spoke at the event, with DPDT registrar Md Sanowar Hossain in the chair.
A total of 5,642 patents, 15,397 designs and 53,525 trademarks have been registered in the country since 1972.
