DNCC’s ‘combing operation’ continues

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) spotted Aedes larvae in 248 houses and establishments on Tuesday, the third day of its ‘combing operation’ to eliminate the dengue-carrying mosquitoes.

Besides, DNCC teams also found that 6,683 more houses and establishments have favourable condition for the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes.

The DNCC teams inspected 10,460 houses and establishments in all 36 wards of the DNCC area on the day.

As part of the campaign titled 'Ward-wise Aedes mosquito breeding source destruction and cleanliness campaign', a team of led by Executive Magistrate Mir Nahid Ahsan also fined two organisations Tk 0.3 300,000 in Baridhara.

Since starting the 10-day combing operation on Sunday, DNCC found in total found Aedes larvae in 804 houses while 14,819 more houses and establishments have favourable condition Aedes breeding.  

The combing operation and mobile courts will continue in the coming days to prevent the dengue outbreak, according to a statement.
