Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has urged the owners of all houses, commercial establishments, and other establishments to separate the connection of sewage lines from stormwater drains, canals, lakes as well as other reservoirs by their own by March this year.
Terming it as a serious threat to the environment and a punishable offense under the Local Government (City Corporation) Act 2009, a DNCC statement said that under no circumstances, the connection of sewerage lines will not be provided to stormwater drains, canals, lakes, and other water bodies.
Connection of sewerage lines to stormwater drains, canals, lakes, and other reservoirs are prohibited by law, the statement added.
