DNCC fines two firms over illegal graffiti

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has fined two organisations Tk 50,000 each in a drive against illegal graffiti, wall writings and posters.

A DNCC mobile court conducted the drive at Tejgaon, Niketan and Gulshan Avenue from 12pm on Tuesday for violating the Graffiti Writing and Poster Sticking Control Act, 2012.

DNCC Public Relations Officer (PRO) ASM Mamun said Executive Magistrate Md Sajid Anwar led the drive.

The mobile court fined Haque Food Industries Ltd in Tejgaon Industrial Area and Jantrik Foundation, an event management firm, at Niketan Tk 50,000 each for affixing posters or writings on walls violating the rules.

According to UNB, Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore Abdur Razzak and Additional Chief Waste Management Officer Lt Col Selim Mahmud were present during the drive, the DNCC PRO said.
