DNCC conducts drives to curb Aedes breeding grounds, fines Tk 0.32m

The mobile courts of Dhaka North City Corporation (DSCC) conducted drives at different parts of the city on Saturday aiming to curb dengue mosquito breeding in the capital.

The courts also fined Tk 322,000 to owners of many under-construction buildings for breeding ground for Aedes mosquito or larva inside the under-construction buildings, houses and hospitals. 

The drives were conducted as per Local Government (City Corporation) Act, 2009.

Six mobile courts led by separate magistrate of the DNCC were launched the drives at Gulshan, Pallabi, Mohammadpur and Mirpur areas. The regional executives inspected 145 residential buildings and establishments.

The mobile courts of the DNCC will continue in the coming days to curb the dengue epidemic in the city.

Earlier, two city corporations announced that they would conduct the mobile court drives until the situation gets normal.
