Voter turnout in Dhaka North City Corporation mayoral by-election is 31.05 per cent.
Returning Officer Abul Kashem announced this in the early hours of Friday.
At the end of an eight-hour voting, EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed, however, estimated the percentage of overall voter turnout to be 50.
In the last mayoral election held on April 28, 2015, voter turnout was 37.3 per cent.
Rains as well as a boycott by most political parties, including BNP, the arch rival of the ruling Awami League, contributed to the lower turnout in this by-election.
A total of 942,539 people exercised their rights in the mayoral by-poll of DNCC – home to 3,035,599 voters.
