Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Saturday realised Tk 2.9 million in fines from traffic offenders in the city.
Besides, a total of 6,068 cases were also filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, according to a DMP statement Sunday.
Of the cases, 1,199 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 114 for using hydraulic horns, three for using hooters and beacon lights, and 12 others for using tinted glasses.
As for traffic violations by motorcycles, the traffic division filed 2,185 cases and seized 121 motorcycles.
A total of 28 motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while driving.
Apart from this, the traffic police also dumped 62 vehicles and wrecked 801 others during the drive.
