Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday realised Tk 2.5 million in fines from traffic offenders in the city.
Besides, a total of 5292 cases were also filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, DMP said in a statement.
Of the cases, 734 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 62 for using hydraulic horns, four for using hooters and beacon lights, and 10 others for using tinted glasses.
As for traffic violations by motorcycles, the traffic division filed 2080 cases and seized 98 motorcycles.
A total of nine motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while driving.
Apart from this, the traffic police also dumped 12 vehicles and wrecked 536 others during the drive.
