Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday realised Tk 2.997 million in fines from traffic offenders in the city.
Besides, a total of 6,153 cases were also filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, DMP said in a statement.
Of the cases, 1,075 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 123 for using hydraulic horns, eight for using hooters and beacon lights, and 14 others for using tinted glasses.
As for traffic violations by motorcycles, the traffic division filed 2,590 cases and seized 133 motorcycles.
A total of 13 motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while driving.
Apart from this, the traffic police also dumped 25 vehicles and wrecked 805 others during the drive.
