Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Saturday fined traffic violators Tk 2.090 million in the city.
As part of its regular drives, DMP’s Traffic Division filed 3,085 cases against different modes of vehicles for the violations, according to data collected from DMP.
Of the cases, 727 were filed for wrong side driving, 77 for using hydraulic horns, 15 for using hooters and beacon lights and 29 others for installing tinted glass.
The department lodged 1,452 cases against motorcycles and seized 130 others for violating traffic rules.
Besides fines and cases, police dumped 36 vehicles and wrecked 564 others.
