Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Friday charged automobile riders Tk 1.739 million as fine money over traffic rule violations.
Therefore, it filed 3,046 cases against different modes of vehicles on the city streets of Dhaka as part of its regular drives, according to DMP data.
Of the total cases, 287 cases were filed for wrong side driving, 58 for using hydraulic horn, 12 for using hotter and beckon light and 17 others for installing tinted glass on their vehicles.
The department lodged 824 cases against motorcycles and seized 92 others over violating traffic rules.
In addition, the DMP has dumped 26 vehicles and wrecked 653 others.
