DMP files over 4,000 cases against violators of traffic rules

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Wednesday realised over Tk 22.9 million as fines from various traffic rule offenders.

In separate drives, DMP filed a total of 4053 cases against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, according to DMP data.

Of the cases, 718 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 82 for using hydraulic horn, seven for using hotter and beacon lights, and 23 others for using tinted glasses.

Police also filed 1,686 cases against motorcycles and seized 50 others for violating traffic rules. It also filed cases against 18 bikers for using mobile phones while driving.

Apart from this, the DMP dumped 14 vehicles and wrecked 609 others during the drive.

The traffic department of DMP conducted drive across the city and took the legal actions for violating traffic rules.
