DMP files 5,902 cases for traffic rule violation

Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Tuesday filed 5,902 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation.

The department also realised Tk 2.852 million as fine for the violations, according to DMP data.

Of the total cases, 1,074 were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 98 for using hydraulic horns, six for using hooters and beckon lights and 22 others for installing tinted glasses, reports BSS.

DMP also filed charges against motorcyclists by filing 3,413 cases and seized 105 others for violation of the traffic rules.

The traffic police during the drives has reportedly dumped 18 vehicles and wrecked 767 others.
