Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Saturday filed 3,668 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation on the city streets as part of its regular drives.
The DMP also realised over Tk 2.741 million in fines for the violations, according to the available data of DMP.
Of the total cases, 319 cases were filed for driving on the wrong sides, 158 for using hydraulic horn, eight for using hooter and beacon light and 14 others for using tinted glass.
The department lodged 1,021 cases against motorcycles and seized 60 others for violating traffic rules.
Apart from this, police dumped 41 vehicles and wrecked 723 others.
