DMP files 3,551 cases for traffic rule violations

The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in its regular drive against traffic rule violations filed a total of 3,551 cases against different modes of vehicles in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The DMP also realised over Tk 2.728 million (Tk 27.28 lakh) in fines from the traffic offenders, according to DMP data.

Of the total cases, 347 were filed for driving on wrong sides, 63 for using hydraulic horn, 12 for using hooter and beacon light, and 29 others for using tinted glass in vehicles.

The department lodged 1,071 cases against motorcycle riders and seized 55 bikes over traffic rule violations.

Apart from this, the traffic policemen also dumped 26 vehicles and wrecked 541 others.
