DMP files 3268 cases over traffic rule violations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Wednesday filed 3268 cases on charges of traffic rule violation.

Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realised over Tk 2.3 million as fine, according to an official release.

As many as 309 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 72 other cases for using hydraulic horn, five for using hotter and beckon light and 11 others for using tinted glass.

Some 56 cases, including 29 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone during driving.

It also dumped 33 vehicles and wrecked 691 others, reports BSS.

Besides, 964 cases were lodged against motorcyclists and 50 motorbikes were seized during the drives.
