DMP files 2692 cases over traffic rule violation

Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Friday filed 2692 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation.

It also realised over Tk 800,000 as fine from owners, said an official release.

Of the total cases, 239 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 48 for using hydraulic horn, four for using hotter and beckon light and 16 others for using tinted glass.

Some 39 cases, including 28 video cases, were registered against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.

It also dumped nine vehicles and wrecked 479 others, said a BSS report.

Besides, 819 cases were filed against motorcycles and 75 motorbikes were seized for the traffic rule violations.
