DMP files 2,505 cases over traffic rule violations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Monday filed 2,505 cases on charges of traffic rule violation.

Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realised over Tk 1.779 million as fines, said an official release.

As many as 246 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 38 other cases for using hydraulic horn, four for using hotter and beckon light and eight others for using tinted glass.

Some 63 cases, including 39 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.

It also dumped 24 vehicles and wrecked 479 others.

Besides, 752 cases were lodged against motorcyclists and 47 motorbikes were seized for the traffic rule violations, reports BSS.
