Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Friday filed 2,419 cases on charges of traffic rule violation.
Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realised over Tk 733000 as fine, according to an official release.
As many as 213 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 55 other cases for using hydraulic horn, two for using hotter and beckon light and seven others for using tinted glass.
Some 44 cases, including 17 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.
It also dumped 15 vehicles and wrecked 321 others. Besides, 592 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 28 others were seized for the traffic rule violations, reports BSS.
