DMP detains 49 during anti-narcotics drive in city

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a regular anti-narcotics drive arrested 49 suspects from different areas of the capital for selling and consuming illegal drugs.

Different police stations under DMP launched the drives in the city and arrested the drug abusers during the last 24 hours ending at 6:00am on Wednesday, according to DMP data.

The drive led to seizure of 8556 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 606 grams heroin and 290 grams cannabis, 10 bottles of phensedyl syrup along with some other drug items.

A total of 35 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
