DMP arrests 89 in anti-narcotics drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a 24-hour-long anti-narcotics drive, ended at 6:00am on Saturday, arrested 89 drug suspects from different areas of the capital city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.

Different police stations under the DMP conducted the drive in various places of the city and seized 13094 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 1.322 kilograms heroin, 3.70 kilograms cannabis, and 20 bottles of phensedyl, according to a DMP statement.

A total of 55 cases have been filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations, the statement further added.
