Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a 24-hour-long anti-narcotics drive arrested 65 drug suspects from different areas of the capital for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
Different police stations under DMP conducted the drive in various places of the city and seized 19,091 pieces of Yaba tablets, 619 grams heroin, 1.3 kg cannabis and 1,290 bottles of Phensedyl, according to a DMP statement.
A total of 49 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The drive began at 6am on Sunday and ended at 6am on Monday (today), the statement added.
