Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a special anti-narcotics drive arrested 34 suspects from different areas of Dhaka city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
A special team of DMP, comprising Detective Branch (DB) of police and other law officials, launched the drive in various places of the capital, according to a DMP statement issued on Sunday.
During the raids, the law enforcers recovered 2,558 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 270 grams heroine , 650 grams cannabis and 230 cans of beer, the statement said.
A total of 23 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The drive began at 6:00am on Saturday and ended at 6:00am on Sunday.
