Dipu Moni hints at reopening schools, colleges

Education Minister Dipu Moni has said the government is thinking about reopening the schools and colleges on a limited scale after the end of the ongoing shutdown amid coronavirus outbreak on Saturday.

“We are working to decide whether we will reopen on the 15th (of November), or extend the shutdown further, or restart classes on a limited scale for some grades,” she said.

The minister came up with the statement while addressing a programme on Wednesday, reports bdnews24.com.

She added that the government will have to make a decision over the matter by November 14.

However, it is still unclear when the institutions will reopen.

Earlier in March, the government ordered

All the schools, colleges and universities across the country remain closed since March 17, after the detection of the first cases of Covid-19 in the country on March 8.

The government has extended the shutdown several times. The latest extension of the shutdown will end on November 14 (Saturday).
