NETRAKONA: Thousands of people have been facing extreme suffering due to the dilapidated condition of the Rupganj Bausi Bazar road in Bausi Union under Barhatta Upazila of the district.
A number of big potholes have developed on different portions of the road.
Thousands of people of Susang Daharpara, Sheikh Para, Bausi, Shasnura, Premnagar Chaliura, Kandapara, West Mohati, Ram Bhadrapur, Naygaon use the road, but the sorry state of the road makes their journey painful.
Many a local said, "It is very difficult for us to walk on foot on the road. Small and big accidents occur very often for the bad shape of the road".
Local people have urged the authorities concerned on many occasions to renovate the dilapidated road but no steps have been taken yet.
Principal of Barhatta Bausi Ardhachandra School and College Md Abu Tahar said, "As the government has reopened the educational institutions after pandemic-induced closure, the students face serious difficulties in commuting on the road".
Chairman of Bausi Union Sheikh Tareq Habib said, "I heard that tender has already been floated to repair the Bausi road."
