The Dhakeswari National Temple Committee on Saturday thanked Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina for recovering one and a half bigha land of the Dhakeswari National Temple.
“We thank her (PM) from the core of our heart as she initiated the process of recovering and returning our 1.5 Bigha land with utmost sincerity when the Awami league (AL) led government came in power in 1996,” said Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee, general secretary of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad in his written statement at a press conference here.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced the return of Dhaneshwari temple’s 1.5 bigha land situated at the south-west corner of the temple during last Durgapuja festival.
BPUP President Milon Kanti Dutta, Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Udjapan Committee President Shailendra Nath Majumdar and General Secretary Kishore Ranjan Mandol were present on the occasion, reports BSS.
