Detectives arrested 45 leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami along with explosives from a resort at Pubail area of Gazipur on Friday.
A team of Detective Branch of police arrested them, including Gazipur city Jamaat chief SM Sanaullah, from a clandestine meeting at Swapnachura Resort in the area.
District Police Super Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid said police conducted the drive around 7:30am as the detained persons were planning subversive acts.
During the raid, the law enforcers arrested 45 leaders and activists of the party and recovered 15 petrol bombs, four crude bombs and some books on jihad from their possession, he said.
Meanwhile, police arrested two motorcyclists along a foreign pistol in Kaliganj upazila.
