Train communication of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong remained suspended for the derailment of an intercity train on Thursday morning.
One of the compartments of the Sylhet-bound Jalalabad Express from Chittagong veered off the tracks around 9:45 am, halting the train communication on Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chittagong routes, said Nurul Islam, TI of Kulaura Railway Station, says a UNB report.
On information, a salvage train from Akhaura junction is on way to the spot to rescue the derailed compartment.
