The government will take decision on operation of the ‘sitting bus service’ within a week, said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

The minister made the remarks after emerging from the 41st road transport advisory council meeting at his ministry's conference room on Wednesday.

The committee on the particular transport services in the city will submit its report next week, he said.

"The government will take decision within a week after reviewing the recommendations of the committee," he  added, reports  a local media.

Obaidul Quader said Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will recommend about the economic life expansion of CNG-run auto-rickshaws.

"The government will take decision soon after reviewing the opinion of the BUET," he said.

The road transport and bridges ministry is also working to control additional weight of the vehicles for keeping longevity of the roads and highways.
