The death reference of 14 militant convicts, who plotted to kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by planting a bomb at a public meeting in Gopalganj's Kotalipara, has reached the High Court.
Confirming the matter, Barrister Saifur Rahman, special officer of the Supreme Court, told The Financial Express that the relevant documents of the case were brought to the High Court on Monday.
On the death reference of any criminal case, the officials of the High Court generally prepare a paper book after scrutinising the case documents as per relevant law, he added.
Earlier, on March 23, a Dhaka tribunal ordered capital punishment for 14 members of the banned militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (Huji).
The tribunal also gave an order that the convicts be executed publicly by a firing squad.
