Customs intelligence members have seized 11 gold bars arrested a man in this regard at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) Md Saidul Islam of Dhaka Customs House said the arrestee Ataur Rahman disembarked from a flight from Saudi Arabia on Friday.
"He tried to leave the Green Channel area hastily with his luggage. Our men became suspicious by his behavior and challenged him," he said
The customs official said they found the gold bars inside the luggage.
The customs AC said the estimated worth of the seized gold is Taka 6.8 million.
According to BSS, a case was lodged with Airport Police Station in this regard.
