Customs detain two with 31 gold bars at Dhaka airport

Customs intelligence arrested two men along with 31 gold bars from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airporton Thursday evening.

Keramat Ali, 58, hailing from Feni, and Lokman, 58, hailing from Kadamtoli in Dhaka landed at the airport from Chittagong by a Regent Airway flight coming from Bangkok, said UNB citing Director General of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Moinul Khan.

Afterthey crossed the domestic flight point, a CIID team challenged them and recovered the gold bars concealed in their dresses, shoes and mobile covers, according to UNB report.

Later, the team detained the duo and handed them over to Airport Police Station.
