CTTC nab two Neo-JMB men with 30 detonators in city

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested two members of Neo-JMB from Nikunjo in Khilkhet area of Dhaka city on Friday night.

 

The arrestees were identified as Naim Ahmed alias Anas alias Abu Hamza and Anwar Hossian, reports UNB.

 

Sources said, tipped off, a special action group of CTTC unit conducted a drive in the area and arrested the two Neo-JMB members at about 9:20 pm.

 

During the drive, the law enforcers also recovered 30 detonators (explosive) from their possession, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of DMP.

 

The arrestees, during primary interrogation, confessed that they are active members of the Neo-JMB, said Monirul Islam, the chief of CTTC unit, at a press briefing at DMP media centre on Saturday.

 

Naim joined Neo-JMB in 2015 while he was working in an IT farm. Another member Anwar is the owner of a motor garage at Hemayetput in Savar. He also joined Neo-JMB in 2015.

 

As per the directive of Neo-JMB Sura member, Anwar had arranged trainings in his garage for car attack.
