CHATTOGRAM: Chattogram General Hospital has received a central oxygen plant equipped for treatment of the coronavirus patients.

Uninterrupted oxygen supply to the hospital beds started on Friday with the completion of the installation work of the oxygen plant.

Sources said the authorities set up the oxygen plant within around one month after the health ministry gave a directive in this regard on June 22 last.

The capacity of the new oxygen plant is 13,000 liters and it will have to be refilled after three weeks.

Dr Ashim Kumar Nath, superintendent of Chattogram General Hospital, said, "We wanted to ensure uninterrupted oxygen supply to the patients of our hospital. After the opening of the new oxygen plant, the patients for now on will get oxygen without any disruption."
