Two ABT men get life term in Faridpur explosion case

A Faridpur court on Wednesday sentenced two members of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) to life imprisonment in an explosion case.

The convicts are Nahid Mollah, 22, of Bhanga upazila and Farid Meridha, 35 of Sadarpur upazila.

Special Judge Court Judge Md Motiar Rahman handed down the verdict at noon in presence of the convicts on the dock.

The court also fined them TK 20,000 each, in default, to suffer three months more imprisonment, reports UNB.

Police arrested Nahid with hand bombs and Jihadi books and Farid with 12 hand bombs and its ingredients on August 26, 2016.

Sub-Inspector Gazi Salauddin of Bhanga Police Station filed a case with the police station in this connection the following day.
